Abstract
Electronics production fell by 11.4% in 2009 and has now declined year on year since 2000. Production is forecast however, to grow by 5.4% in 2010 led by industrial and the market recovery in the component sector. Since 2000, EDP production has fallen year on year a trend which is forecast to continue in both 2010 and 2011 and will rank third behind control and instrumentation and medical by. EDP accounted for 21.9% of total output in 2009, control and instrumentation 24.9%, medical 23.3% and components 13.9%.
