Abstract
US electronics production for the electronic equipment and components covered in ‘The Yearbook’ was US$383 billion in 2000 according to official statistics. By 2003 this figure had fallen to US$255.7 billion, a decline of 33% over the period. Since then production has stabilised and in 2006 increased by 5.2% to US$282 billion. Output is forecast to increase by a modest 1.6% in 2007 before declining by 1.4%, although this will depend on the depth of the economic slowdown.
