| Details on the Americas
The Americas account for around 25% of global electronics output; the region is dominated by the USA the world's second largest producer, and largest market for, electronic equipment and components. Mexico too remains an important production centre, even in the face of increasing competition from China. Buoyed by cheaper production costs and its close proximity to the US, Mexico is ranked ninth globally. Canada has in recent years lost share of global electronics production and currently is ranked 18th. Brazil is the 8th largest electronics market globally and the 12th largest producer. In addition to the main countries listed information is also available for Puerto Rico and Venezuela on request.
