The Danish electronics industry is dominated by the professional electronics sector, which in 2015 accounted for an estimated 77% of goods produced, while 20% of production was attributable to components, the remaining balance of 3% was accounted for by consumer electronic goods. After declining by 2.9% in 2013, production in the Danish electronics industry increased by 3.0% in 2014 and, based on preliminary government data, is forecast to grow by 9.9% in 2015. Growth is expected to ease in 2016 to 5.3% on the back of the weaker global economic outlook. Denmark is an important world producer of electro-medical equipment, which has experienced significant growth rates. The largest groups in this category are electro‑diagnostic equipment and hearing aids, each of which made up around 18% and 79% of total production of the sector in 2014, respectively. Production of hearing aids declined by 2.5% in 2014 on the back of weaker demand in key export markets but is forecast to show double-digit growth in 2015. The production of electro-diagnostic equipment grew by 3.5% in 2014 and is forecast to increase by 5.2% in 2015.
