The Swedish electronics industry remains centred on the production of fixed and wireless infrastructure equipment, the two sectors accounting for 54% of electronics output in 2014, down from 57% a year earlier. In 2014, total electronics production declined by 5.7% with growth in control and instrumentation offset by on-going weakness in the communications sector. Electronics output declined by a forecasted 1.4% in 2015, on-going growth in control and instrumentation and industrial being offset by falling output across the remainder of the industry. Electronics output is expected to stabilise in 2016 as the European and global economy strengthens. Production of wireless communications equipment declined by an estimated 9.1% in 2014 and is forecast to fall by a further 7.0% in 2015 and 3.1% in 2016.  In the same period telecommunications output declined by 11.8% and a forecasted to fall by 3.0% and 2.0% in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Telecommunications accounted for 27.3% of total electronics output in 2014 and wireless communications 27.0%. Radar and navigation accounted for 7.4% of electronics output in 2014, the sector posting growth of 5.5% during the year. A decline of 2.5% in 2015 is expected to be temporary with output forecast to increase by 1.6% in 2016. The other predominant sectors are control and instrumentation with a 22.6% share in 2014, up from 7.5% in 2000, and components with a 10.3% share. Computer equipment accounted for only 1.3% of the total, while consumer production was negligible.
