As a result, electronics output increased by 1.3% in 2020, and compared to growth of 2.1% and 2.8% in 2019 and 2018, respectively. Semiconductors and computer related production have traditionally been the main sectors of the Philippines electronics industry and in 2020, they accounted for 43% and 35% of production, respectively. The production of wireless communications equipment posted growth of 19.2% in 2019, but as a result of the pandemic, declined by 5.7% in 2020, before rebounding in 2021 with growth forecast at 12.0%, In 2020, the sector accounted for 4.9% of overall electronics production.
