VOLUME 1 - WEST EUROPE 2012
After declining by over 17% in 2009 electronics output in Western Europe rebounded in 2010 with growth of 8.2% to reach Euro 154 billion according Reed Electronics Research’s annual survey of the West European electronics industry. After further growth in the first months of 2011 output slowed significantly in the later part of the year on the back of deteriorating consumer and business confidence and the uncertainties around the future of the eurozone. Combined with the anticipated slower growth in the global economy the outlook for the 2012 clearly remains uncertain with initial projections expecting the electronics industry to contract before recovering in the later part of the year although this is not expected to be sufficient to stop a small decline in output for the year as a whole.
The new edition of Reed Electronics research's annual survey provides an in-depth outlook for the West European electronics industry through to 2015 based on the latest economic and market data and will be published in February 2012.
